The Other Shoe is about presence—and what’s missing.
Inspired by a performer I saw in Houston, this piece captures a moment that lingered long after the show ended. There was confidence, intensity, and command—but also an absence that shifted the balance. One small detail unsettled the whole, turning spectacle into story.
The missing shoe becomes more than an object. It’s a pause. A vulnerability. A reminder that perfection is often an illusion, and that what’s incomplete can be just as powerful as what’s polished.
The Other Shoe lives in that tension—between performance and humanity, control and exposure. It asks the viewer to sit with discomfort, to notice what’s absent, and to recognize how much meaning can live in what’s left behind.
