A Contemporary Take on a Classic Craft

Each piece of quilted art from Quilted Canvas Studios reimagines traditional quilting through a modern lens. Bold textures, layered fabrics, and unexpected color pairings turn every stitch into a statement. These aren’t your grandmother’s quilts. They’re wall-ready works of art that bring warmth, movement, and personality to any space.

Original art stitched from scraps, soul, and just enough sass to start a conversation.

What the hell is a quilted canvas?

It's exactly what it sounds like.

It’s exactly what it sounds like: a quilt, transformed into a canvas. A tactile, textile piece of art meant for your wall, not your bed.

But here’s the kicker, this isn’t some mass-produced print. Each quilt begins as hundreds of scraps of fabric, stitched, layered, and pieced together until it breathes. Then it’s photographed in 3D detail and reborn as a giclée print that keeps every stitch, shadow, and thread alive. The result? Bold, layered wall art that looks like you could reach out and touch it.

A Quilted Canvas is where tradition flips the script. It’s fine art with fabric. Precision with personality. Craftsmanship with a little chaos. Not foo-foo, not fluffy, just unapologetically alive.

How a Medical Event, a Sewing Machine, and a Joann’s Sale Bin Changed Everything.

In 2019, I had a series of medical events. While recovering, I was depressed and spiraling. Then came fabric. A dusty sewing machine. A phoenix iron-on. My mom. Within minutes, I was hooked—alive again, clawing back joy one stitch at a time.

I don’t do patterns. Instead I see pictures in my head, then try to create them in glorious color. They’re layered, weird, beautiful, and occasionally made with a repurposed tablecloth, favorite sock, or my dad’s old jeans.

My original quilts are expensive because they take hundreds of hours to create. That is why I offer giclee print and canvas copies. Giclee comes from the French word gicler, which means “to spray,” and refers to the microscopic droplets of pigmented ink used to faithfully replicate the color and detail of an original artwork. You will see the stitching in your print, and many people think that my prints are the actual quilts.

If you want an original quilt, join me at an art fair or send me an e-mail. My quilts like to travel to galleries, museums and the Colorado State Fair, so they are not always available.

At the present time, my shirts and hoodies are only available at art fairs. I hope to offer them online in the future, but at the moment I am having trouble keeping up with the demand. Send me an e-mail if you want to know where I will be next—I would love to meet you!

You’re here to buy something bold. Let’s get to it.

These quilts are stories. They’re spirit animals. They’re phoenixes rising, roosters crowing, dragons brooding, and flamingo princesses flaunting their spray-painted beaks. They’re stitched with grit, humor, and 120+ hours of care, and I can only make so many! By transforming these into canvases, they are affordable and accessible. Go ahead—buy one and let it jump from the bed to the gallery wall without losing an ounce of texture or rebellion.
